  Yasmin Jetha was recently conferred with an Honorary Doctorate of Laws by the UK's University of Leicester. Her achievements are numerous and she holds the distinction of being the first Asian female to hold an executive directorship of any of the top 100 companies in the UK.   Shahina Pardhan Professor Shahina Pardhan is Professor of Optometry and Ophthalmic Dispensing at APU and was the first female Professor of Optometry in the UK. She qualified in Optometry in July 1984 with a first class honours degree and obtained her PhD in 1989.
  She has authored well over 100 scientific research outputs and has published both nationally and internationally in the field of Optometry. She was recently awarded the Asian Jewel Award in the Health and Education category...09/23/05
   
 

Aly N. Alibhai is Senior Counsel with the federal Department of Justice in Ottawa.
